When Entitlements Smell

.
When did our Constitution get changed? Who was it that decided our federal government must provide all Americans with healthcare? When our founding fathers designed our democratic republic, they did so with three primary considerations in mind:

      (1) Our citizens should have the freedom necessary to
            promote individual initiative.

      (2) They each should be responsible for their actions.

      (3) Each citizen's freedom to punch his neighbor ends at
            his neighbor's nose.

THE CONSTITUTION ESTABLISHED THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

The FEDERAL PAPERS clarified the meaning of every word of the Constitution. There was no mention of tax payer supported health care for all.  So where did the idea come from? The American government was designed to allow as much individual freedom as possible while still protecting the new nation and it's citizens from harm.  The government was not intended to be an insurance company.

During the 200+ years since our government was established there has been a gradual encroachment on the original intentions. We now have the F.D.I.C., Medicare, Medicaid, Government Employee Pension Plans, and so forth. The Federal Government also provides funds for disaster relief, acts of God, and other miscellaneous purposes.  Every dime of these programs is paid for by the citizens that pay taxes  . . . . and not one of these programs is authorized by the Constitution.

What entitlements SHOULD American citizens expect of their government?

**Americans are entitled to protection of person
       and property.
          Police/FBI/CIA/MilitaryForces
          Homeland Security/Environmental Protection
          Agency/F.D.A.

**Entitled to the freedoms of speech, assembly,
and religious belief provided none of them
        restrict or harm another person.
Your freedom to throw a punch ends at my nose.

**Entitled to a national postal system, a national
        highway system (part of military
        communications etc.), a national parks
         system, a national library, and
         a national museum.
            Coast to coast/Yellowstone, Yosemite, etc.
            Library of Congress/Smithsonian

**Entitled to a fair and equitable national tax system.
            Internal Revenue Service

American citizens SHOULD NOT be entitled to:

**National health or life insurance, or national
          retirement systems.
             Obamacare/Social Security/ Medicare
             Medicaid.

Individual responsibility.

        ** National Department of Education.
               Defer to States
