The sky is about to fall and TEA Parties are not fading into the sunset. Instead, they are gaining significance all across America. Liberal Democrats and the Republican old guard are both desperately wishing TEA Parties would just go away.
The pundits say Republicans have an opportunity in November to take back the House and improve their minority in the Senate. Frankly, I don't believe they are correct.
The Republican RNC just came out with their wishy-washy "PLEDGE". It's not as powerful as Gingrich's "Contract With America" of years ago, but it is supposed to represent a Republican promise to return to our traditional government. Big deal. They STILL don't get it.
Americans don't want the same old same old government. They want a government that BELIEVES in the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and so forth. They also want to return HONESTY, INTEGRITY, AND TRUTHFUL REPRESENTATION by elected and appointed government employees. The TEA parties have been as clear and loud as they can be. They've told the Republican Party that Conservatism has gained strength and demands attention, that the President should have line item veto power over ANY EARMARKS, that immigration to America must be controlled, that all government subsidies must undergo periodic review, and that every effort should be made to reduce the federal bureaucracy and the complexity of government.
The GOP and the RNC did not strongly address these issues, and because they didn't, third parties will grow and dilute the Republican impact. They may even prevent the Republicans from attaining victory at the polls.
